In just a few short days, I'll be starting in Lilla Roger's e-course, called "Make Art That Sells", or MATS for short. I randomly stumbled across it a few weeks ago, and as I started reading the course description, I instantly knew it was something I wanted to do.
A part of me wanted to sign up to the later opening date, which is more that six months away, because I felt I needed more time to get my things in order. Like, set up a perfect workspace, build an amazing website, brush up on my digital painting skills, and amass a much larger body of work that I already had. I'm notorious for being a perfectionist, the kind that forgets that done is better than perfect.
I read many reviews about the course on the blogs of many who participated in previous sessions, and was astounded by the amazing talent and polished styles that each brought to the table. I took a deep breath, reminded myself that I bring with me my own set of talent and experience, that it's not a contest, and that I would be enrolling in order to grow as an artist.
I also stumbled across a saying that helped me be okay with it all:
Painting it was fun, and a nice way to practice a positive affirmation!
So, here goes! I look forward to learning about myself, about my artistic style, and plan to post my process over the next five weeks.... Excited!
