Children's Book Portfolio Review
Children's Book Portfolio Review
If you’re an aspiring children’s book illustrator and you’re looking for a kind, helpful review of your portfolio, I’m really glad you’re here.
I’m a children’s book illustrator with years of experience creating characters and stories for young readers. I know what catches the eye of agents, art directors, and publishers- and I’d love to share that insight with you in a gentle, encouraging way.
How It Works
1. Reserve your spot.
After you book, I’ll ask you to send me 5–10 of your illustrations. I’ll also take a look at your website and social media so I can understand your artistic voice.
2. I review your work with care.
I take my time and pay close attention to your strengths, your style, and the stories you’re telling. I know how personal art can feel, so I always approach your work with kindness and respect.
3. You receive a thoughtful, easy-to-follow review.
Within 5–10 business days, I’ll send you a friendly, detailed one-page written critique that includes:
What you’re already doing really well, and how those strengths can help you grow
Where your characters, colors, and compositions truly stand out
Simple, gentle suggestions for areas that could be stronger
Clear tips to make your whole portfolio look more organized, polished, and professional
Helpful insight on whether your portfolio shows the range art directors usually look for
You might be thinking:
“What if my art isn’t ready yet?”
Your work is welcome exactly as it is. Everyone starts somewhere.
“What if the feedback is too harsh?”
My approach is supportive, honest, and always kind. My goal is to lift you up, not tear you down.
“What if this won’t help me improve?”
I offer practical, clear advice based on real industry experience—things you can use right away.
“Is this worth the investment?”
A professional review can save you lots of time, confusion, and trial-and-error. You’ll know exactly what to focus on next.
What You’ll Take Away
My hope is that you finish reading your review feeling inspired, motivated, and confident about your next steps. You’ll receive practical guidance, warm encouragement, and clear direction to help you grow your skills and your portfolio.
I can’t wait to meet you—and to see the wonderful art you’re creating.
